Endocytosis assay. a mature DC were incubated with the endocytic tracer (Dextran 10,000 m.w. conjugated with Alexa Fluor 488, Al488-dextran). The amount of Al488-dextran that was taken up by the DC was measured as fluorescence intensity using a FC500 flow-cytometer. The assay was conducted at 4 C as a negative control for endocytosis. b The MFI (Mean Fluorescence Intensity) was measured in triplicate assays at 37 C and 4 C. The average net MFi (37 C – 4 C) +/− 95% C.I. is shown for 3 subjects
